Schooners Arrive in Style!

Wooden, Steel, Cement hulled, beautiful schooners arrived in the Baltimore harbor today! BOOM! It’s not your typical sound in the Inner Harbor on a sun shining day! The dog scooted between my legs and when I tried to climb topsides to get a shot of the schooners shooting off their canons, she’d have nothing to do with it! “I’ll stay below, thank you very much.”

So, I missed the shot of the canon fire and smoke. But I did grab some shots of them down at the Fells Point wharf, tied up. Enjoy some schooners today and tonight. They’re leaving for a race on Thursday (10/14/10).

Arrr-rrr, matie!

Our first night here on the water near Fells Point, we heard this strange and very loud, “ARRR-RRRR!” I looked over and it was a strange ship flying pirate flags! Just about every night that Pirate ship does a little sachet around the Inner Harbor with a land-lubbing crew taking to the high seas for a trip aboard the “Fearless.” We haven’t actually done this cruise … perhaps you have? But it looks like great fun. We hear that if you bring your kids early for the cruise, you can get them “geared” up (dressing up as pirates). They take on Pirate boarders at the docks by South Ann St. in Fells Point. Their website is urbanpirates.com.
